Our Mediators A-Z

Our team is made up of multi-disciplined, insured, accredited and registered mediators, able to handle a wide variety of disputes.

What does a Mediator do?

Mediation leaves the responsibility for resolving a dispute in the hands of those involved in it. The mediator manages the process for them but will not provide legal advice, make any judgement or seek to impose any solution. However the mediator may probe some assumptions, seek clarification of some positions and reframe some problems to help develop options that could lead to a settlement acceptable to all parties concerned.

The skills and techniques of mediation used by mediators are suitable for most kinds of dispute but their application needs to take account of the different context and circumstances of family, civil, commercial, workplace and community disputes. The mediators are trained experts with in-depth specialist knowledge in the areas in which they offer mediation service.

Patrick Martin

I recently qualified as a mediator. For thirty years, I have worked in the theatre and in training. In the theatre I started as an actor and then moved into writing and now I work as a director. In training, I work in experiential learning, running courses on communication, management, behavioural change and inclusion and diversity. I am a trained coach and my training work is both in the corporate sector and with the NHS, particularly in mental health. Mediation is a natural progression from both careers; both require empathy, the ability to listen and observe and, particularly as a director and coach, the ability to create an atmosphere in which people feel safe to do their best work and challenge themselves. I am passionate about the process of mediation and the importance of helping people to a resolution based on mutual understanding not conflict.

Alicia’s practice is people-centred, encouraging collaboration and creativity, so the participants can find their best path forward.

Rosie Pearson

I have spent over twenty-five years negotiating with individuals and teams to achieve agreements or desired outcomes.

This relationship-building experience comes from my previous career (pre-children) in business development and purchasing in travel and professional services, followed by my current voluntary projects in planning and environmental campaigning.

I have championed causes both on the national and regional scale, via organisations which I have founded, to challenge the status quo and advocate for sustainable alternatives.

In conjunction with campaigning, I am often on the national airwaves talking about matters planning and environmental, I sit on the Linear Infrastructure Planning Panel, and am a contributor to the Daily Telegraph.  In 2022 I received a ‘Woman of Influence Award’ from The Planner.

Mediation is the logical next step to help others to reach their own best outcomes when conflict arises.
